Kindred Psychology
Kindred Psychology is a progressive Counseling Psychology practice in Lincoln, NE. Our psychologists and therapists provide inclusive and affirming therapy services for individuals, couples, and families of all configurations. Using individual, relationship, and/or group therapy modalities, we work with adolescents and adults struggling with a variety of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and trauma recovery.

We also provide supportive, collaborative therapy services for people experiencing a variety of life transitions. Your transition may be rebuilding life after a loss, understanding your sexuality or gender identity, managing workplace stress, adjusting to college, the postpartum period or a new relationship structure, healing from divorce, or blending families.

Camie Nitzel PhD LP (she/her or they) is a Licensed Psychologist and the Founder of Kindred Psychology.
She is a first-generation college student, completing Bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Sociology/Anthropology at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Camie earned her MA and PhD degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Counseling Psychology program (APA-accredited).
Camie serves as a psychologist for educators, medical providers, therapists, and other professionals at high risk for experiencing compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma.
Kathryn (Kate) Nowlan, PhD PLP (she/hers) is a provisionally licensed psychologist completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Kindred Psychology.
After graduating summa cum laude from Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ, Kate earned her Master's and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology (APA-Accredited) from the University of Miami.
Throughout her career, Kate has focused on the intersection between mental health and gender, sexuality, and relationships.
For the past ten years, Kate has provided evidence-based counseling services to individuals and couples in a wide variety of settings, including community outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, and VA Medical Centers.
Jillian Miles, MA PLMHP (she/her/hers) sought out an opportunity to work at Kindred Psychology because her personal and professional values align so closely with our mission and philosophies.
Jillian is passionate about working with diverse individuals, couples, and families in an inclusive and affirming manner.
Jillian has a special interest in providing trauma-informed therapy services to people who have been impacted by race-based traumatic stress and historical trauma.
Through her work with agencies such as Hopespoke and Heartland Family Service, Jillian has developed expertise working with youth, adolescents, and adults experiencing depression, anxiety, mood regulation, and/or trauma concerns.
Courtney (she/her/hers) plays a vital role at Kindred Psychology, serving as an extension of the therapeutic experience for clients.
Among other things, she is responsible for matching clients with the right clinicians, which optimizes client experiences and outcomes.
On any given day, you'll find Courtney simultaneously scheduling appointments over telephone and email, welcoming clients as they arrive for sessions, processing co-pays and payments, corresponding with insurance companies, and generally keeping everything in order where non-clinical client details are concerned.
