Services
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master's Degree in Integral Counseling Psychology.
I've been privileged to have worked in the mental health field for the last 14 years with an exceedingly diverse range of clients.
In addition to providing psychotherapy in private practice, I've worked in schools, counseling centers, an inpatient treatment facility, group homes, and a community mental health agency.
I'm also a father, certified yoga teacher, and former boxing coach, Buddhist monk, Army intelligence analyst, carpenter, and musician (though not all at the same time).

INDIVIDUAL ADULT THERAPY: Individual therapy is an opportunity to work through a wide range of long-standing or present-time concerns and issues related to yourself, your relationships, your work, or your place in the world around you.
It is an opportunity to receive experienced, personalized, focused support that often brings about significant internal and external changes.
We'll draw upon your existing strengths and unique life experiences as you're supported in making important discoveries about yourself, expanding your range of choices about how you relate and respond, and overcoming obstacles to your happiness and optimal functioning.

Many different techniques can be effective in treating common therapeutic issues.
While there is no one best way to practice psychotherapy, the importance of finding a good "fit" between client and therapist is crucial to making progress and achieving hoped-for results.
My approach to counseling and therapy is dynamic, integrated, contemporary, and relational.
Dynamic: Therapy sessions themselves tend to feel "alive" to both clients and myself, and we actively engage with what is most meaningful and relevant to the issues at hand.

Session Length: The most common session length is about 50 minutes, traditionally called a "therapeutic hour."
I offer other session lengths as well, depending on your need, which we can discuss when scheduling your initial appointment.
I offer a limited number of sliding-scale appointments for people who would otherwise be unable to engage in therapy at my regular fee.
If you believe this pertains to you please inquire further.
I accept only cash and checks as forms of payment, which is expected at the time that services are provided.

LOCATIONS AND PARKING: I see clients at two conveniently located offices in the Wallingford and Lower Queen Anne neighborhoods.
Wallingford: Central location is easily accessible by car or bike, and only a few minutes drive from I-5, Fremont, Eastlake, Phinney Ridge, Greenlake, and the University District.
Free parking is usually available directly across the street, and during busier times is available within two blocks in the surrounding neighborhood or nearby gasworks park.
Lower Queen Anne: Central location four blocks from Seattle Center at the intersection of 1st Ave W. and W. Mercer St. Within easy walking distance of many local restaurants, businesses, and residences, and lies directly on several bus lines.
