I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology followed by a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado.
I then proceeded to graduate with a Ph.
D. from an APA-accredited program in Clinical Psychology from The Ohio State University in 2007.
I completed my APA-accredited, doctoral internship in Clinical Psychology at Aurora Mental Health Center in Colorado.
During my internship I had the privilege of working with a multidisciplinary treatment team in providing outpatient services to clients of diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds, suffering from disorders involving mood, anxiety, psychosis, and personality.
We practice cognitive-behavioral therapy.
This method of therapy involves examining the relationship between one's thoughts/beliefs, feelings, and behavior.
Often times, the way we think influences how we feel.
We also use solution focused brief therapy.
This method focuses on therapy being brief and focusing on solutions rather than problems.
In other words, therapy will be goal-oriented and solution-focused.
At the initial appointment, a clinical interview will be conducted, which will include a discussion of current symptoms, background history, and an overview of treatment and goals.
Please be aware that transmitting confidential information via the internet is not recommended.
Contacting us by email does not constitute the creation of a doctor/patient relationship.
This type of relationship is only created after a prospective patient meets with us and both parties agree to initiate a professional relationship.
Upon receipt of your email, we will attempt to contact you to discuss your needs.
Everyone experiences stress and obstacles in their lives.
Major life changes, such as marriage, divorce, or death of a loved one can be difficult to adjust to or trigger feelings of anxiety or depression.
Even if you've been successful in handling life changes in the past, sometimes the challenges of life can become overwhelming and people need an environment where they can discuss things privately.
In other instances, people have chronic psychological problems that they want to address.
No mental health professional can guarantee success in treatment.
Our usual and customary rate for an initial diagnostic interview is $175 per session [for psychologists] and $125 per session for therapists.
Longer sessions will be charged an additional rate of $45.00 in quarter hour increments.
Insurance plans will generally not provide coverage for such extended sessions.
You are not limited to the list your insurance company provides.
You can choose a mental health professional who you believe is competent and with whom you have a good therapeutic relationship.
