Timber Creek Counseling
Our treatment approach is based on the concept that attending to your mental health is essential for your greater wellbeing. We believe counseling should emphasize the uniqueness of every person. Our team is dedicated to providing you with evidence-based, compassionate, and comprehensive care. Instead, please call 911, go to your nearest emergency room, or contact the national suicide hotline at 800-273-TALK (8255).

We are trained and have experience working with children to older adults, and especially love to work with couples and families. Since we work with children to older adults, we have picked up a deep, broad base of experience. We have specialized training with couple's therapy, adolescent and college-aged individuals, and children. We will incorporate a thorough assessment of what is going on with the use of research-proven interventions to help you reach your goals and move towards healing.

Most of all, we will listen to your story and strive to help you heal and grow during every meeting.
Services
We work one on one with individuals in a safe, compassionate environment to explore their feelings, behaviors, and beliefs.
We focus on the uniqueness of every individual and employ evidence-based best practices with the goal of helping the you work towards your desired change.
Good treatment starts with a thorough assessment.
The first session of individual therapy involves a thorough assessment of your concerns and goals.
It also gives you the opportunity to determine if we feel like the right fit for you.
There is no shame in getting help with your relationship.
In fact, there is clear evidence that most couples wait too long to get help in their relationships.
Considering counseling?
Start early.
Be open.
Find someone you can both trust who teams up on the side of your relationship and not with just one person in the couple.
We guide couples through a variety of challenging issues as well as help couples strengthen their relationship.
During couples counseling sessions we help you build strong communication skills, change unhealthy patterns, recognize strengths, and cultivate intimacy.
With family counseling, we help all members of the family improve communication, resolve conflict, feel empowered, and strengthen relationships.
We create a compassionate and safe environment for all family members.
With family counseling, it is important for all individuals to feel understood and involved.
From the assessment to treatment phase, it is important to understand the problems and goals from everyone's perspectives.
While finding common goals shared by everyone is not always possible, our treatment will always return to integrating each person's goals with the best possible research on what treatment would help the family.
We believe counseling can be very beneficial to children and teens.
Counseling can help them identify areas of stress or frustration as well as recognize and utilize areas of strength.
We can help provide coping skills to help children and adolescent achieve emotional and mental health.
It will be important for family, especially parents, to have some involvement in a child or adolescent's treatment.
Depending on what is going on, counseling may focus on meeting with the individual, or primarily with the child and parents, or it may be most helpful to primarily meet with parents.
Group counseling allows you to learn not only from the counselor, but also your peers in the group.
At Timber Creek Counseling we create a safe, caring, compassionate environment for all members of the group.
The focus of our groups is to allow you to share your experiences, learn from the counselor, and listening to others experiences.
Most groups typically run between 8-12 weeks on a weekly basis.
Some groups will be more process-oriented, and our role will be to help guide and facilitate conversation towards common goals.
