When you hear the words pregnancy and childbirth, you may envision joyful celebrations, smiling families, giggling babies, and most of all, a happy mother.
Societal standards make us believe that welcoming a new baby is always exciting and beautiful, but that is often not the case.
It is common for women to experience sadness, guilt, or no emotion at all following the birth of their child.
Many women feel unempowered and alone.
But the truth is, you are not alone.
Every day women question 'what is wrong with me', and every day, those same women find the help they need to overcome their doubts.
Have you and your partner been having trouble communicating lately?
Maybe your conversations have been escalating into arguments, and you are unable to compromise or agree on much of anything these days.
From household duties to finances, to parenting, you don't seem to be on the same page anymore - in fact, maybe you both seem to be actively moving in different directions.
You may have thought to yourself, "If only my partner and I could just communicate better, our life together - our family - would be so much healthier."
Grief and loss are a natural part of being human.
Grief is the emotional reaction that comes after the loss of someone or something important in our lives.
We grieve over the loss of loved ones, sudden deaths, and expected deaths like loved ones in hospice care.
The loss of a family pet can cause grief.
The loss of your role as an employee if you lose your job will cause grief.
There are various types of losses that we must grieve such as the loss of your former life as a caregiver or loss of your role as wife/husband after divorce.
