We Mind Body Spirit
I believe that healing comes from the inside out. Having worked as a Somatic Depth Psychotherapist for over 30 years, I continue to marvel at the resiliency of the human spirit. The paradox of being alive is that we long for love and connection yet fear it at the same time. Our bodies hold mystery and the cellular pathways back home to self-trust and self-love.

My specialty is working with fear, sadness, grief, loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I infuse my work with creativity, compassion, generosity, and joy. I love what I do. So what I have noticed consistently by witnessing people explore in their body are two things, hesitancy and risk. Most of us have an insidious little voice inside that likes to criticize and make judgments about the quality and.

Somatic Depth Psychotherapy blends the numinous realms of the psyche with the bodily felt experience of being alive.
The underlying insight in somatic depth psychotherapy is that we enact self-feeling, identity, and connection with others through bodily means.
Through our development in families and communities, we construct embodied patterns of feeling, sensation, expression, movement, and emotion through which we know ourselves and make relationships in the world.
Being present in your body is helpful for working through deeper emotional issues.
Movement is our first language.
Dance and movement express and affect how we feel.
This connection between our body and mind is the basis of Dance-Movement Therapy (DMT), an innovative form of psychotherapy.
When you feel an impulse to move, you have the desire to experience life.
Suffering in your psyche is often accompanied by a sense of dis-ease in your body.
It is easy to feel lethargic, with zero motivation to move, or to feel so hyped up that you can't sit still.
Learning to listen kindly to what your body wants and needs is core to your healing.
Healing trauma is entirely possible, but in order for that to happen you have to find a way of helping your body understand that you are no longer in danger.
When something traumatic happens your system goes into the fight/flight/freeze mode and talking about it does not make this feeling go away.
You have to work trauma through your body in order to heal, if you don't then you are likely to be triggered by things outside of your control.
It's easy to shut down, get numb, avoid people and situations, get obsessive and feel stuck.
Insight Meditation is a process of bringing concentrated and relaxed attention to the movement of the breath going in and out of your body.
By doing so, your mind is brought to rest, you learn how to work skillfully with distractions and discover you can stay focused with ease.
When this is done, a deep calm pervades both your body and mind, and you touch into a state of tranquility which must be experienced to be understood.
Wendy will teach you how to meditate so that you can have a practice you can do every day.
