When people come to my site in search of psychotherapy it is usually because they are in pain or discomfort and either don't know how to make it better themselves, or have not found an effective, sustainable solution.

Psychotherapy is intended to help individuals and couples relieve different forms of emotional pain or confusion. Different types of emotional pain may include anxiety, depression, self-criticism, shame, compulsions and difficulty with relationships.

When I entered college my curiosity lead me to choose a major in anthropology.
I was attracted to the field because it was concerned with the study of mankind.
I was intrigued by the way culture affected behavior and the striking similarities between people.
As a Teacher Corps fellow at USC we worked in teams to bring cutting edge teaching methods to inner city schools.
From this experience I learned the value of service and how to work effectively with a culturally diverse population.
As a teacher in the Santa Monica City Unified School District I developed individualized instruction programs and learned how to determine and meet the unique needs of my students.
The purpose of psychotherapy is to understand what you want and need to make your life more productive and fulfilling.
Psychotherapeutic teamwork cultivates the ability to see into yourself with more clarity and through these insights, more effective choices can be made.
The goal is to develop and maintain a healthy and positive relationship with yourself.
A central theme of psychotherapy is to relieve emotional and psychic pain and eliminate negative thinking.
Removing pain is at the core of all psychotherapeutic work.
