Alan S Brown, MD
I am a board-certified clinical psychiatrist and psychotherapist in Bergen County, New Jersey, where I have practiced for 25 years. I treat a wide range of emotional conditions, including depression, anxiety, panic disorder, stress, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and social anxiety disorder. I am an active member of several professional psychiatric organizations, including the American Psychiatric Association and the American College of Neuropsychopharmacology.

I am an expert in the care of emotional conditions and stress using psychotherapy (talk therapy), psychopharmacology (medication treatment), or a combination of these two forms of treatment. With regard to psychotherapy, I have specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy and insight-oriented therapeutic approaches. The most effective therapy is achieved by a partnership between the patient and the doctor.

Treatment decisions are only made following a full evaluation, after you are given every opportunity to have all of your questions answered, and following a discussion of all of your treatment options.
