Olive Branch Psychotherapy
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Doctor of Marriage and Family Therapy with over 30 years experience working with individuals, families, and couples counseling and psychotherapy in Montana and Colorado. My job is to create a safe place where individuals, couples, and families can explore their current or long-standing problems and find realistic solutions.

A significant part of this work involves carefully and mutually developing an appreciation of people's actual qualities and circumstances. Individuals, couples, and families have strengths and vulnerabilities that need to be empathically recognized and understood if there is to be a basis for realistic change. I work with people in crisis or who sense they have patterns of living that could benefit from a clear understanding and want an expert and experienced partner to help facilitate their desired change.

I received my Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Argosy University, Denver in 2013.
I am an ordained minister with over thirty years experience working with children, teens, individuals and families in a variety of settings.
Each individual and relationship is different and treatment plans vary according to the particulars of each case.
Assessment is an important first step.
However, it's important to understand that a critical aspect of the work is the relationship that develops between myself and each patient.
Building this alliance and trust is an essential part of our work.

Having a good relationship with a partner is one of the most difficult things you can do; an obvious statement.
Often, people worry that couples therapy will make things worse.
In fact, many people have had bad experiences with previous couples therapy.
Effective couples therapy needs to be conducted by someone who has advanced training in working with couples.
Make sure you ask the psychologist or social worker with whom you are considering working, Where did you get your training in couples therapy?
Seeking out therapy is an individual choice.
There are many reasons why people come to therapy.
Sometimes it is to deal with long-standing psychological issues, or problems with anxiety or depression.
Quite often, it is our relationship with a partner/spouse that feels unsatisfying.
Other times it is in response to unexpected changes in one's life such as a divorce or work transition.
Many seek the advice of a therapist when they feel something is missing, like they are going through life with no passion or purpose.
