Body-oriented somatic psychotherapy integrates traditional talk therapy with somatic (body-centered), mindfulness-based approaches. Modalities like IFS, Focusing, Hakomi, Gestalt, Yoga, EMDR, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, work to resolve depression, anxiety and trauma, as well as access deeper body wisdom and self-compassion. Because communication is 90% non-verbal.

At the root of anxiety, depression, and addiction often lies unresolved trauma. My Pasadena-based trauma treatment approach is rooted in mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, EFT, Trauma Resiliency Model (TRM), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. It is possible to release habitual patterns that keep you in the past. You can heal and overcome trauma's paralyzing grip on your life and live with greater ease and trust.

Are you and your partner struggling to connect? Do past injuries feel impossible to resolve? Are you avoiding conflict or arguing more frequently, and questioning at times whether or not to stay together?
Services
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFC 48357) in Pasadena and Certified EMDR and IFS therapist, I specialize in holistic psychotherapy for individuals and couples.
Prior to working in private practice, I provided therapy to adults, families and at-risk youth in agencies, public schools, women's shelters, and community-based settings.
My interest in psychology and human behavior evolved from growing up in and being from both eastern and western cultures and a desire to make meaning from contradiction, multiplicity, trauma and loss.
It is my belief that transformation and healing ultimately rest within us all.
Therapy is a journey toward finding balance and wholeness.
It is about disentangling yourself from patterns and limiting beliefs that no longer serve you, as much as it is about cultivating self-acceptance and reconnecting with essential parts of yourself.
I take a holistic approach when facilitating psychotherapy and work with individuals to cultivate a grounded, more compassionate vision of their lives.
My goal is to help you understand the dynamics of your struggle and discover what you need to move beyond it, so that with a new perspective and deeper connection to core self, you will engage life with more wholeness and joy.

Because communication is 90% non-verbal.
The focus of the process remains on your internal experience, or "felt sense", in order to tap the inherent truth that resides within you.
Are you and your partner struggling to connect?
Do past injuries feel impossible to resolve?
Are you avoiding conflict or arguing more frequently, and questioning at times whether or not to stay together?
Or do you and your partner have a strong, loving bond and simply want to fine-tune a few areas of disagreement?
If you feel your relationship has reached any of these points, it may be helpful to have third-party support.
Seeking couples therapy doesn't mean that a relationship is beyond healing and repair.
