The Wichita Collaborative Psychology Internship Program (WCPIP) is an APA-accredited internship made up of three cooperating agencies that, together, offer a broad range of training experiences to doctoral interns from either clinical or counseling psychology. We value providing our interns with a learning environment that is stimulating, enriching, collegial and supportive in nature.
We recognize that a primary goal the internship year is learning to broaden and refine clinical skills; however, we also see internship as a prime opportunity to promote the development of skills across a variety of other professional areas too (e.g., consultation, outreach, provision of supervision, etc.). We strive to tailor the training experience to the intern's unique needs and interests, and provide regular assessment of interns' progress in order to ensure that training goals are met.
Great care is taken to ensure that our interns not only meet their training goals, but that they enjoy their time at WCPIP as well.

Services
WCPIP provides experiences consistent with a Local Clinical Scientist Model (Stricker and Trierweiler, 1995) and gives ongoing attention to diversity.
The basic philosophy maintains that effective training is accomplished by providing comprehensive experiential opportunities in diverse settings through application of scientific inquiry to clinical problems, and attention to specific, unique qualities of individuals, cultures, and locations.
Adhering to this philosophy requires ongoing respect for what science contributes to practice, and an appreciation of how practice influences science.

WCPIP participates in the APPIC Match and will only accept applications that are submitted electronically through APPIC.
