Beth's therapeutic approach is an integrative and eclectic one, combining contemporary western psychology with eastern spiritual practices. Beth draws from Freudian and Jungian theories, humanistic and transpersonal theories, blended with the buddhist psychological concepts of mindfulness and compassion; additionally, Beth has extensive training in sandplay therapy and play therapy.
She has a sandplay room in her private office, where she invites clients of all ages to explore and work in the world of symbols as well as words. I do not currently accept any insurance coverage as payment at this time; however, most group plans do provide "out of network coverage" which allows you to choose your preferred provider. When I am seeing a child individually, I also see the family during the same time frame.
Sometimes, its just for a few minutes at the beginning or the end of the session, and other times it's separate family therapy or parent guidance sessions. I'm an Austin based licensed marriage and family therapist in the state of Texas.

It would be my privilege to be a part of your unique healing journey.
I am honored by the opportunity to help individuals find a greater sense of peace, ease, and contentment in their lives.
When we are anchored within ourselves, to what we feel and want and who we are, living can become a beautiful and vibrant expression of our true selves.
For many of us, our lives are so busy with 'doing' that we rarely have time to stop and discover where support is needed.
Most emotional wounding happens in relationship, so it is often through a new and reparative relationship that emotional healing takes place and a new concept of relationship takes hold.

Stress and the challenges of life can take a toll even on the best marriage or intimate relationship.
Once stress responses like pursue-withdraw or attack-defend start to take hold, they can turn into vicious circles that take over the relationship.
Once I understand each of your perspectives, I can provide a third party perspective to help understand why your relationship is stuck, breaking down, or has lost connection or intimacy.
We work to gain a better understanding of how each partner wants and needs to connect, we define what intimacy means to each partner, including what you expect but also fear from others in a loving relationship.

My systematic approach towards couple therapy is defined on the lines of enhancing the communication between the partners, and establishing short term and long term goals, where both the partners would be given their own schedules of expectations to be fulfilled, effectively working towards improving the relationship.
With the help of third and neutral perspective, we help bring in clarity in the relationship by clearly defining the mistakes each other have made, and where the overreaction caused the emotional outburst, which in turn, deepened the hole in the relationship.
