Making the decision to begin therapy or nutritional counseling is not an easy one. But it can be one of the best decisions you can make to empower yourself & move beyond unresolved issues or to help find the right path to take. Psychotherapy is a collaborative approach between a therapist and client. At Psychotherapy Services of Greater Atlanta (PSA), we offer quality care for a wide variety of emotional issues on an outpatient basis.

Mental illness is a condition that affects a person's thinking, feeling, behavior, and eating habits. We can help, whether the problem is a mood disorder like anxiety or depression, a behavior problem which children and teens often struggle with, a poor coping skill like an eating disorder, an addictive behavior like gaming or compulsive shopping, or an addiction problem like substance abuse, we are here.

When depression, anxiety and "moodiness" seem to cross a line in your life, and become ongoing, it is time to get help. Women can utilize therapy to help with self-esteem, improving confidence and body image, working through trauma, or improving mood overall.
Services
As a trained clinical social worker in the mental health field, I work with children ages four and up, tweens, teens, adults, and families in a private practice mental health setting, located in the the greater Atlanta area.
My job is to: assess and diagnose the problem, educate you about your diagnosis, connect you to other resources if necessary, and to help increase your sense of well-being.
Through ongoing communication and therapeutic techniques (learning new skills) I can help you change your behavior, improve your overall mental health, and improve communication between you and your family, school and environment.
An eating disorder is a very complex and complicated disorder.
We now know that eating disorders involve biological, psychological, social and interpersonal conditions.
Besides individual therapy and seeing a nutritionist, involving the family can be one of the most important components of treatment of eating disorders, especially in children, teens, and young adults.
Eating disorders ARE treatable and complete recovery is possible!
Eating disorders can affect anyone, of any age, any race, any religion, any nationality, any socioeconomic level, they can run in families, and an eating disorder can be deadly.
Parenting is definitely rewarding and filled with lots of positives but parenting can also be one of the most difficult and time-consuming things in your life.
Besides caring for an infant or child, parents are also the main teachers for their children.
Kids learn basic life skills, develop social skills, and appropriate behaviors from their parents or main caregiver.
Parents can easily become overwhelmed and need the support of a trained counselor, especially when faced with a difficult situation or a child's behavioral concerns.
Women's issues cover a wide-range of topics in the field of psychotherapy.
They also have some different health care needs than do men, approach relationships and developmental tasks differently, and often struggle with self-esteem, body image, and sexuality concerns.
Problems with an addiction including: substance abuse, gaming, compulsive shopping, and compulsive overeating.
Being a trauma survivor of sexual/physical abuse (past or present), rape, emotional abuse, and re-victimization.
Relationship problems like choosing the wrong partners, staying in destructive, empty, or depleting relationships, being overly accommodating, and feeling afraid to leave unhealthy relationships.
Problems with addiction and addictive behaviors can reek havoc on your life.
Both have to do with genetics, brain wiring and being unable to stop a certain pattern, substance, or behavior.
What's the difference between a "substance addiction" and a "behavior addiction?"
For starters, the brain can't tell the difference between the two.
Whether it's drugs, alcohol, gaming, shopping, gambling, or binge eating, your brain reads all identically.
The similarities outweigh the differences.
When you're doing something that you love, your brain releases dopamine, which in some can lead to complete addiction.
