My psychiatry practice, located in Seattle just steps away from University Village Shopping Center, specializes in the psychiatric treatment of adolescents and adults with a wide range of mental health concerns and emotional difficulties. I treat clients in a professional and confidential setting that feels safe, comfortable, and non-judgmental. My practice draws upon a variety of evidence-based psychotherapies and utilizes psychiatric medications if appropriate.
I believe that for any treatment to be effective, it must be built upon a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship that reflects each client's individual needs, strengths, and personal values. I believe in a down-to-earth and transparent approach to psychiatry that views genuine human connection as the foundation of any treatment. My expertise includes psychotherapy (individual, couples, and family therapy) and psychiatric medication management for the issues listed below.
I also offer psychoanalysis for those clients seeking a more intensive form of psychotherapy.

Services
Eating Disorders (Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating) are serious brain-based illnesses with the highest death rate of any mental illness.
Research suggests that the longer an individual has an Eating Disorder, the more difficult it may be to recover.
For this reason, early intervention and treatment are paramount.
However, full recovery from Anorexia, Bulimia, or Binge Eating can occur at any age, no matter how long an individual has been ill.
Dr. Wicholas strongly believes that each of his clients can discover his or her own path towards recovery, based upon his own clinical experience of helping dozens of clients achieve full recovery from Anorexia, Bulimia, and Binge Eating.

I am a preferred provider with the following insurance carriers and will bill them directly.
Please confirm coverage eligibility prior to your first appointment.
For other insurance carriers, I am considered "out-of-network."
This means that clients will have to pay for services "out-of-pocket" and then seek reimbursement directly from their insurance carrier.
I can provide clients with an invoice for this purpose.
