You likely find yourself here because something is not right in your life. Perhaps you have symptoms-- such as depression, anxiety, rage, disordered eating and body image, and/or addictions. Perhaps your relationships are not the way you want them to be. Or the way in which you're managing stress could be better. Maybe you feel out of sync, like you have lost touch with your own fullness-maybe you have never known the fullness of your own being.

I believe that beneath your symptoms, at your very core, is a wisdom and wholeness that you quite possibly don't even know is there. And that the very symptoms that are showing up in your life, that you probably feel like pushing out of the way, are actually the way in. As your therapist, I partner with you on your journey, and we stay curious about those symptoms.

With respect, presence, deep attention, and a keen intuition, something seemingly magical happens and they begin to shift. You may not even notice it. Your new ways of being will feel so natural to you that you may not even recognize that it is different from how you were before.
Services
I am a clinical psychologist specializing in individual therapy with older adolescents and adults, and have maintained a private practice in Montclair, New Jersey for over 20 years.
With over 25 years experience as a therapist, a graduate of Adelphi's Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies and Cornell University, I am currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients.
My graduate school training was psychoanalytic in nature, and my personal and professional quest for the most efficient and effective forms of therapy and healing have lead me to a variety of other techniques and views of the self.
Could you use an expert opinion on what you're going through, or a non-judgemental ear just to listen?
If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, then individual therapy could be the solution you've been seeking.
Individual therapy differs from group or alternative therapy methods in the way that you are the sole focus of a single therapist who helps you develop and achieve your goals for therapy.
If you've been feeling hopeless or lost lately, or struggling with a problem in your life that feels unsurmountable, individual therapy could help you improve your everyday life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma.
EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from different treatment approaches.
EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy and uses a technique called bilateral stimulation to repeatedly activate opposite sides of the brain.
Therapists often use eye movements to facilitate the bilateral stimulation.
Somatic Experiencing is a body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders.
It offers a framework to assess where a person is "stuck" in the fight, flight or freeze responses and provides clinical tools to resolve these fixated physiological states.
Trauma is defined as experience(s) that overwhelm the nervous system's ability to respond in an adaptive manner-it may begin as acute stress from a perceived life-threat, or as the end product of stress that is cumulative.
Both types of stress can significantly interfere with a person's ability to function with resilience and ease.
LifeForce Yoga is an approach designed to work with and manage moods.
The practices support clients in self-regulation, and many of the yoga techniques can be done in a chair, in bed, and do not require a yoga mat.
Most practices are evidence-based and have been adapted for clinical settings.
Developed by Amy Weintraub, who successfully used yoga to treat her longstanding depression, the practices are rooted in traditional active meditation and self-inquiry that embraces the polarities in our lives.
