Moontree is accepting new clients at this time. Most therapists are providing services via secure videoconferencing due to the pandemic. If you and your therapist have decided that in-person sessions are necessary, please review the information about what to expect during your appointment. Our counseling center is comprised of independent therapists serving the greater Madison community.
Moontree psychotherapists are licensed professionals committed to high standards. Individuals, couples and families from all backgrounds trust Moontree to provide respectful and effective service. We provide therapies that heal the entire person-mind, body, and spirit. At Moontree you can take the time to explore what you need, how to best reach that goal, and work with your counselor to choose the route that's best for you.
Our focus on individualized counseling provides an alternative to the routine therapy you may receive at other clinics.

Services
The Moontree, as it was named then, was founded in 1975 by a group of health practitioners who were concerned with giving back to their community.
Originally formed as a collective with all members sharing their income and expenses, Moontree offered a wide range of services including counseling, massage therapy, acupuncture and many other alternative medicine practices.
Moontree quickly became an important resource for healing and self discovery in the Madison area.
In the 1980's and 1990's societal values shifted and insurance began to shape the health care landscape.

I have been providing psychotherapy at Moontree since 2008 and have worked with adults, children, and families in a variety of capacities for over 15 years.
I am a Humanistic-Mindfulness based Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
Whether you are seeking treatment for mental illness or need help with managing the circumstances in your life, I pay attention to all the parts of the human system (self, body, mind, emotion, spirituality, relationships) and help you bring them into balance.
I have a non-judgmental way of helping my clients become more self-aware and empower them to tap into their inner resources.

I have been providing quality psychotherapy/counseling for almost thirty years, eighteen of which have been at Moontree.
I work with individuals, couples, and families on issues of depression, anxiety, relationship issues, stress, grief, general problems, dilemas and making decisions.
I am a holistic oriented counselor.
I work on all levels of being human-behavioral, cognitive, emotional and spiritual (as one perceives it, not as in religion.)
I work within a framework of respect and holding the perspective of a person to person relationship which includes compassion, acceptance and non-judgment.

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and advanced practice mindfulness instructor with 10 years of experience practicing psychotherapy in Madison.
My practice experience includes work with individuals, couples, families and groups.
At some point, every one of us is vulnerable to conditions that overwhelm us with confusion or anxiety, and drain us of energy.
Whenever we lose our way in life due to loss, anxiety/depression, addiction, or conflicted relationships, we often feel we are stumbling in the dark, unable to remember positive experiences such as simple happiness, curiosity, and fulfillment.

I work with people who want to improve, understand or make decisions about their present and past relationships.
Together, we identify personal wants and needs, we set goals, we address feelings and we stack up small successes.
We directly and indirectly address some of the issues that strain relationships, like gender roles, religion, race, class, sexual identities, cultural backgrounds and parenting demands.
I welcome partners who are managing the impact of infidelities.
And, I have a special place in my heart for helping people in the arts, educators, and people in leadership to sustain their relationships and balance their lives.
