Medical Psychology Associates
Medical Psychology Associates (MPA) was established in 1991 as an outpatient mental health clinic. Through the years we have expanded and evolved into a multispecialty group of mental health providers with training and expertise in the areas of adult, adolescent, and child mental health. Providers in our group offer specialized treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, substance abuse, grief, general stress management, and coping issues arising from chronic medical conditions.

Additionally, we provide couples and marital therapy using interventions that allow for each partner to grow as an individual while also addressing the needs of the relationship. In this era of integrated medicine, we strive to collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers. We recognize the relationship between mind and body, and many of our clinicians have additional specialties in health psychology.

This allows us to work effectively with individuals experiencing chronic physical health problems such as pain, MS, cancer, headaches, and other life changing medical problems.
Services
People seek psychotherapy for a wide variety of reasons.
Some people are going through a difficult life transition, while others are trying to learn more about themselves and lead more fulfilling lives.
Some are dealing with work-related concerns, relationship issues, or stressful experiences.
Many people are seeking treatment for depression, anxiety, panic attacks, posttraumatic stress, obsessive thoughts or compulsive behaviors, phobias, or other conditions.
Other people are simply trying to make positive changes in their lives, or are searching for a greater sense of authenticity, meaning, or wholeness.
Your primary relationship is the most important one in your life, and even the happiest of couples will face challenges and obstacles along the way.
We work with couples to help them reconnect, improve their communication and rebuild trust.
Our clients include couples of all kinds, married or partnered, straight and gay couples, new and newly engaged couples, those in long-term relationships, and couples in crisis.
We help couples break down barriers, so that each partner can see the other's side of an issue.
Family therapy or counseling is a type of psychological counseling designed to work with and help family members improve their relationships and resolve issues or conflicts.
Family therapy may include all family members or just those able or old enough to understand and be involved.
Family counseling is usually short term and the specific treatment will depend on your family situation.
Family therapy or counseling can help you, your spouse and your children repair and improve difficult relationships.
We accept insurance for payment in most cases.
The psychologists in our clinic are in network with most health insurance plans, but not all.
If you have in-network or out-of-network benefits (which means that you can be reimbursed for seeing a provider who does not participate in your plan).
Most insurance companies reimburse a portion of the fees charged as part of their in- and out-of-network coverage.
Check with your insurance provider about your coverage for specific information.
You'll find this described in the behavioral or mental health out-of-network coverage section.
