30 years of experience practicing in the Fairfield County area have allowed me to become very familiar with the particular challenges faced within our community. There are many different forms of therapy and they are all helpful in bringing about therapeutic change. We'll work together to determine the optimal style for your needs. Therapy is one of the best ways people can take control of their life and become more of the person they want to be.

Simply put, therapy can help you create a happier and more fulfilling life. I don't focus on a technique. I focus on you; who you are and what we need to know and understand to make the changes you want. With over 30 years experience as a psychologist, I know that every life has problems. But problems have solutions. The problem pushing you into therapy doesn't define you.

Unhappy marriages, stressful lifestyles, parenting issues, anxiety and depression are problems. Working together we can solve the them. My office in Westport, Connecticut is comfortable and private.
Services
As a therapist, I am warm, interactive, open and nonjudgmental.
I focus on you, and I want to understand you fully, for that's the best way for me to provide good therapy treatment.
I began my therapy education before I received my doctoral degree, training as an Art Therapist with a Gestalt and Humanistic orientation.
In my graduate work, my focus was primarily Marriage and Family Therapy, with a Family Systems and Cognitive Behavioral therapy approaches.
During this time, I, also, trained in the use of hypnosis.
There is no wrong reason to begin therapy.
You may have a concrete issue that is limiting your life or you may just feel a sense of not being complete.
We will talk, I will listen, and together we will work through issues that you can and perhaps cannot convey into words.
The adolescent years are difficult to navigate not only for teens, but for their parents and families as well.
If you are a teen or you have a child struggling with emotional issues we can work together to navigate those difficult years.
There are many different kinds of therapy, and they all are helpful in bringing about therapeutic change.
Some therapists have one way of working and stick to that method.
Others, like me, have trained in a variety of approaches and use them as they are called for throughout therapy.
These are the therapeutic methods I am trained in and use.
This method values a deep understanding of your psychology, focusing on how your early experiences have shaped the way you look at yourself and the world.
In pure psychodynamic therapy, sessions are free-form and not directed by the therapist.
Like many therapists, I am out-of-network.
This means you pay me directly; I prepare a bill for you to submit to your insurance company; your insurance company reimburses you.
Insurance companies require that you have a diagnosis in order to be reimbursed.
Your insurance company may ask for significant personal information about you and your symptoms in order to decide how much treatment it will authorize.
You and I can discuss what information you are willing for me to disclose.
A really important question.
