The Dolan House, established in 1989, is one of the oldest and most respected affiliations of independent mental health professionals in Burlington, Vermont. We each have a unique approach to our work but are all highly qualified with many years of experience. Overlooking City Hall Park in downtown Burlington, our office suite is quiet and well suited to privacy since the building houses a variety of services.
We are committed to maintain a respectful and safe environment for therapy.

I provide a safe, confidential space for our work together.
Each person seeks a therapist for their own personal reasons.
Whether you feel stuck at an impasse, want more satisfying relationships, or seek freedom from difficult patterns- no matter the struggle, therapy may help.
The outcome of therapy is unpredictable, though it often helps toward a greater sense of well-being and less internal conflict.
Together we can seek to understand what is going on and explore possibilities not previously considered.

In my 22 years in clinical practice, I have developed expertise in assisting adult individuals and couples in a variety of areas, in particular depression and anxiety disorders, relationship/intimacy challenges, sexual concerns, adjustment to challenging life transitions, stress-related issues, workplace issues, parenting concerns and grief/loss.
I have advanced training in sex therapy and workplace employee assistance, with certifications in both of these areas.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the perspective that each client comes with a unique complexity of personal experience, family dynamics, biology, social, cultural and spiritual history that influences psychological functioning and emotional regulation.

Areas in which I help my clients include: depression, anxiety, low self-confidence, health struggles, bereavement, relationship troubles, parenting, life transitions.
I work with adults, couples, and families.
I help couples: learn to manage conflicts and stop the negative cycles which cause each other so much pain; develop communication skills; cope with and build their relationships after a breach of trust or an affair.

Since earning my master's degree in 1990, I've developed a specialty in cognitive/behavioral treatment methods and a subspecialty in the treatment of trauma and dissociative disorders.
I approach all issues from a multimodal perspective.
That is, we look carefully at how one's biology, psychology, social framework, environment and spiritual orientation are interacting to aggravate or alleviate the problem(s) experienced.
It is in recognizing the patterns in one's life that we can begin to experiment with making adjustments that provide symptom relief and deeper change.
