Choosing to see a professional for issues in your life is can be difficult but also life changing. Consulting with an educated, neutral party to act in your best interest can be time well spent. What better investment than in YOU, right? Think about what it took to get you here and the importance of your happiness. So make sure you the person you choose for counseling qualifies.

Find a licensed psychologist with a doctoral degree Ph. D. or PsyD., both have over 10 years of education in the field of psychology, extensive internships and comprehensive exams and licensed by the state. Also, consider the therapist's approach to therapy. I use a straightforward approach (psychobabble available upon request) with brief, solution-oriented sessions implementing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).

Experience also separates good psychologists from others with fewer and more proficient sessions. Decades of professional experience contributes to the reason 90% of my practice is referral based and why so many other psychologists seek my services.

Over 20 percent of Americans suffer from anxiety disorders, making it the most common mental illness in the U.S. Most people experience feelings of anxiety time to time like before an important event such as a big exam, business presentation or maybe first date.
Anxiety disorders, however, are illnesses that cause people to feel frightened, distressed and uneasy for no apparent reason.
Left untreated, these disorders can dramatically reduce productivity and significantly diminish an individual's quality of life.
Individual sessions are @ 60 minutes in length.
Some individuals prefer longer sessions and that can be arranged at the time the appointment is scheduled.
Couple sessions are typically @ 60 minutes in length.
Dr. Hensling will meet with each person privately prior to the first session as a couple, and may do so as needed throughout the therapeutic process.
Divorce mediation and co-parenting sessions are primarily conducted with individual sessions for each person with meetings as a couple kept to a minimum.
My husband and I married in 2000 with his twins and my son (from former marriages) at our sides.
A year later we adopted my niece when my sister passed away - His, Hers & Ours.
In 2010, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and learned the importance of family, friends, a good attitude and how unimportant hair is.
Clearly, I do not adhere to the traditional rules of counseling that discourage self-disclosure, humor or an occasional hug.
I'm human just like you.
I want you to "feel like you are talking to a neutral friend that you have hired to act in your best interest".
