Pathways Psychological Service
Some seasons of life are difficult. The death of a loved one, divorce or marital problems, the loss of a job, care for special needs children (i.e., ADHD, autism, OCD), drug abuse within a family, or other major life events can diminish hope and joy. Sometimes just day-to-day life or listening to the news can leave you feeling exhausted, anxious, depressed and like you are all alone.

At times like this, there is hope and comfort available. When you hurt, we can help. At Pathways Psychological Services, we care. People were designed to need others-especially when life is overwhelming-so please don't feel like you have to go it alone. Our Pathways counselors will listen compassionately in a safe environment. You can trust us to come along side you and guide you through your personal or family struggle.

Our staff will offer nonjudgmental, spiritual counseling and insights to overcome the issues you are facing based on a Christian worldview. We can help restore balance and joy. Good place to start if you're struggling with your depression, anxiety, anger, sadness, pretty much anything.
Services
This image hangs prominently in each of our offices, as we feel it carries significant symbolism:.
The path separates two provinces in southwest China.
The left side is Guizhou and the right side is Sichuan.
This path has separated these two provinces for more than 2,500 years, runs about 500 miles and took over 300 years to build.
It is about 5 feet wide and 6 feet deep.
It was originally built to support military cavalry as the troops were transported between the provinces by horseback.
Symbolically, the dark bamboo (bamboo does not easily break, but will bend) illustrates the obstacles, strongholds, troubles and hurts in all of our lives.
A Pathways Psychological Services child or teen counselor initially focuses on building a trusting relationship with your child.
Teens, for example, are more willing to share their struggles if there is a nonjudgmental adult-other than their parent-willing to listen.
Listening, challenging, guiding, and encouraging are tools our child and teen counselors use to help their clients reach their goals.
A Pathways licensed therapist will also meet with parents from time to time to gain additional information that will be helpful to the therapeutic process.
Marriage counseling and relationship counseling for couples, married or not, focuses on improving communication, building conflict resolution skills, and building trust.
Conflicts over parenting approaches, dealing with in-laws and/or extended family members, can also put a stress on relationships.
A Pathways licensed marriage therapist is trained to help couples work through the obstacles that prevent them from enjoying a growing, mutually respectful union.
A few of the many relationship issues a Pathways marriage counselor can often help you address are:.
Marriage or family therapy is useful in many cases, but individual counseling is often used to assist someone struggling in one or more areas of their life.
Individual Pathways counseling is often used to help adults resolve internal conflicts, identify and address personal blind spots, improve self confidence, grow spiritually and/or emotionally, and cope with the stressors of life.
Sometimes psychological testing is used to help identify and attend to deeper issues.
A few of the many individual issues a Pathways Psychological Services mental health professional can help you with are:.
From time to time, a mental health professional will use psychological testing for learning more about his or her clients and help clients learn more about themselves.
At Pathways Psychological Services, psychological evaluation through testing is available for adult, adolescent, and child clients:.
