Services
Throughout her 19 years of providing mental health services, Stephanie has been engaged by an individual's ability to communicate complex emotional challenges through creative expression.
Combining creative arts with psychotherapy, she offers children, adolescents, adults, families and groups a variety of non-traditional modalities as gateways to exploring both their struggles and strengths.
Stephanie brings a diversity of skills to her current work.
She has been trained in school systems, psychiatric hospitals, day treatment centers and in the homes of families in crisis.

Vivian & Salvador were an elderly brother/sister pair who were in search of a forever home.
Their gentle, passive nature and noisy purrs made them a perfect added element to the therapeutic experience.
Their love touched the lives of many clients.
Many Moons continues to provide a loving home for cats in need.
They are full of curious, affectionate energy and unconditional positive regard for each and every client.

This project invites each participant to write a message on a piece of fabric- something that is difficult to talk about out loud.
As each writer weaves their message into the loom, it becomes hidden within the folds of fabric.
The words are no longer visible, but the feeling of release and containment remains.
Their message lays next to someone else's fabric, held safe, secure, and private.
The purpose of this modality has evolved and expanded since Stephanie first incorporated the floor loom in her art therapy office in 2010.

Many Moons has been running a bi-annual, group art therapy program since 2007 as a strengths-based, art-centered, peer-supported space for kids and teens throughout Maine.
Different from individual and family work, the groups are more structured, directed, and social.
All of the groups are rooted in building self-soothing and self-advocacy strategies through creative expression.
Group therapy can be a complimentary addition to individual and family therapies, Occupational and Speech/Language services and case management support.
