Welcome to the Center for Psychology & Health, the psychological practice of Dr. Susan Rosenzweig, Psy. D. My goal is to provide high quality, effective psychological treatment to adults and teens, especially those people dealing with medical illness themselves or in family members. I work with people living with chronic or acute conditions, chronic pain, and fatigue, as well as those struggling with situational depression, panic or anxiety, stress, and a wide variety of psychiatric diagnoses.
Patients may be self-referred or referred through their physician's office. We will work together to define your goals for treatment. The Center for Psychology & Health in Portland, Oregon was established to make effective treatment available and accessible, often in conjunction with medical treatment.

Services
My approach is based on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
CBT focuses on the present, rather than spending too much time trying to interpret the past.
It addresses change through three elements, which are interconnected: Thoughts, Feelings, and Behaviors.
Research shows that CBT works well for most problems.
To complement CBT, I also rely on Family Systems theory, which sees us as influenced by many factors in our family of origin, including how we relate to others, ourselves, and our health.

I usually see people individually, but also see families and time-limited groups.
I work from a cognitive-behavioral and family systems perspective.
Over the past 15 years of practice, I have worked with patients with: Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Diabetes, Cancer, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Migraine, Traumatic Brain Injury, Hepatitis, Sleep Apnea, Obesity, Asthma, Stroke, Dementia, Infertility, Cardiac Arrhythmias, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, to name a few.
I treat patients with depression, anxiety, panic, grief, low self-esteem, relationship issues, and stress.
