Dr. Eckel has been specializing in the evaluation and treatment of preschoolers, children and teens with selective mutism since 2004.
She also has extensive experience working with children and adolescents with anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, social difficulties, relationship and communication problems, learning and attention problems, and managing stress. She provides evidence-based treatment methods in her work with children and families. Dr. Eckel has presented at conferences as well as parent, school and professional organizations on the topics of selective mutism and child mental health.
She attended and received training at the University of Wisconsin Madison, Boston College, the University of Oregon, Boston Medical Center, and the Boston Veteran's Affairs hospital.
