Services
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience and education in adolescent development and mental health; the treatment of anxiety and depression, trauma, PTSD, abuse, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses; and culturally informed counseling and psychotherapy.
I am also the founder and president of Bay Psychology Group, Inc. a counseling clinic in Rockridge.
I received a doctorate in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA in 2013.
As part of my training, I provided therapy to at-risk teens at Lincoln High School in San Leandro, CA; supplied mental health services to homeless men and women at Life Long Medical Center in downtown Oakland, CA; and provided individual and family therapy at the Portia Bell Hume Center's multiple clinics throughout the San Francisco Bay Area to those with severe mental illness including schizophrenia, substance abuse and suicidality.

In addition to working with people on a wide variety of concerns and goals, I have advanced training and specialize in working with international professionals and students, and adolescents.
I use specialized approaches with each, informed by years of training.
Do you have a teenage son or daughter who is withdrawn, struggling in school, or being reckless?
Feel overwhelmed and unsure what do to?
I offer a safe space for teens to build self-esteem, improve relationships, and develop into adults.

Out of control teens, school failure, family conflicts, drug abuse, violence, and suicide attempts can all be signs your son or daughter may need professional help.
Like adults, adolescents can have mental health disorders that interfere with the way they feel, think, and act.
When untreated, psychological problems can be very costly to families and communities.
The causes for these issues can be both biological and environmental.
Biological causes include genetics, chemical imbalances in the body or damage to the central nervous system such as a head injury.

Feeling unfulfilled by the work and relationships you are in?
Keep getting in to bad relationships?
Drinking or using drugs in a way that feels risky to you? Feeling guilty about your behavior?
Unable to make or keep friends?
If any of these sound like you, then therapy might be worth considering.
You face unique challenges, that might bring both excitement and at times difficulties.
Perhaps you are just finishing college and launching into the workforce, exploring relationships in deeper ways, and managing your own finances, or starting a business.

Immigrating to a new country can be exciting but at times also causes difficulties.
Leaving everything behind that you know for the Bay Area may have been a dream-come-true initially, but is now causing you trouble.
If this sounds like you, then psychotherapy may help.
I have helped many immigrants over the years, including international students, professionals here on temporary work visas, and permanent residents.
Culture shock can be thought of as a psychological experience where you feel a mixture of strong emotions when suddenly encountering unfamiliar cultures.
