Anxiety can show up as dread and overwhelm.
It becomes difficult to do the smallest of tasks on a project that is important to you.
You can't find a way to start to do it so you don't.
Perhaps you tell yourself you're too tired so you watch TV or play video games.
The important project is still there and, as much as you try to avoid it, it becomes harder not to think about it.
Anxiety can show up as isolating.
Going out with people may seem unbearable and it seems much easier just to stay at home.

As we grow in our scientific understanding of the mind and our bodies, it has become clear that our minds and bodies work together as one.
What this means is that our thoughts and feelings have an effect on our physical health (e.g., anxiety leading to digestive problems) and our physical health has an effect on our thoughts and feelings (e.g., heart disease bringing on depression).
Additionally, our behaviors can have an impact on our physical health (e.g., sleep, diet, alcohol & tobacco use, and treatment compliance).
