Hi, I'm Sara, a psycho-spiritual psychotherapist in California. I help individual adults who yearn to overcome chronic suffering and find a deeper sense of meaning in their lives. Perhaps you've been judged for your highly sensitive nature, a spiritual experience, your use of psychedelics or cannabis, being a millennial, or for how you show up in the world as "feminine" or "masculine."

Maybe your choices, beliefs, experiences or identity go against the norm, and you need to know your therapist will "get" you. On the outside, it looks like you have everything together; but on the inside, you feel broken. Perhaps you suffer from PTSD or complex trauma. Psychedelic or spiritual experiences have been part of your healing, but they've turned your world inside-out.

Cannabis is your medicine of choice, and you want to find a way to manage your use or explore your experiences. You want to find a way to love yourself, but you're suffocated by anxiety, shame and depression. You want to sort though that huge pile of fear that gets in the way of connecting with yourself and other people.
Services
Hi, I'm Sara Ouimette (pronounced "we met"), a psychotherapist and ordained minister in California.
I specialize in psychedelic integration therapy; cannabis use; spiritual counseling; highly sensitive people, empaths and introverts; trauma and PTSD; women's issues; men's issues; and millennials/IT Industry workers.
I help people make the changes necessary to feel more joy in their lives.
Often this involves a paradigm shift: a realization that the deeply held fears and beliefs that hold you back don't need to be there.
Psychedelics such as MDMA, LSD, ayahuasca/DMT, and psilocybin are being researched for their therapeutic potential by organizations like the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (M.A.P.S.) with promising results, but the research is still in progress.
Most psychedelics are classified as schedule I substances and are therefore illegal.
For this reason, I do not offer guided sessions or promote the use of these substances.
Psychedelic integration therapy is different than psychedelic therapy where there is a therapist or guide present during the actual psychedelic experience.
Even though cannabis use is now legal in California, the stigma remains, which can make it frustratingly difficult to find healthcare providers who are well informed about its benefits and risks.
As a licensed psychotherapist, I see individuals who use marijuana but worry about being judged or misunderstood by medical professionals.
From a well-informed and compassionate place, I can support you in navigating your relationship with cannabis.
Some people also feel that cannabis opens them up to deeper levels of creativity, insight, sensation, and connection to nature and music.
Many people report having had spontaneous spiritual experiences at some point in their lives.
Perhaps you had certain spiritual gifts or experiences as a child.
Later in life, maybe meditation, kundalini yoga, a major life event, a sexual experience, or cannabis or psychedelic use catalyzed a profound spiritual opening.
Your spiritual openness may have always been there; or it may just seem to have come out of the blue.
These experiences can be overwhelming, blissful, scary, isolating, and quite difficult to communicate, explain or understand.
Highly sensitive people make up about 20% of the population.
If you're an HSP, that means you're likely surrounded by people who don't understand your needs.
You may be accustomed to pushing yourself through states of overwhelm, over-stimulation, anxiety and exhaustion.
If you were a highly sensitive child and never had help with embracing and respecting the trait you were born with, you might be suffering in all kinds of ways.
Highly sensitive people are generally prone to shame and feeling criticized.
