My style is personal and interactive, and my clients find me understanding, caring and easy to relate to. I create a safe and nurturing environment for you to explore your concerns about issues such as relationships, career, addictions, childhood trauma, life purpose, depression, gender issues, spirituality and stress.

If we ever knew who we truly are, there would be no more wars, no more hunger, no more hatred.
We would simply bow down and worship one another.
My focus at all times is to recognize and support each person's inner wisdom and innate capacity for self-transformation.
On a practical level, I help people make changes in areas such as relationships, career, self-esteem, addictions, life transitions and health.
I recognize that such changes occur within a larger spiritual context.
In addition to practical concerns, each of us has a need to understand the meaning of our lives and to know our deeper purpose.
I have provided counseling for individual adults and couples for over 30 years (MFT license #21129).
Relationship issues are the most common topic people wish to explore.
I can help you improve your communication skills, learn how to more effectively resolve conflict, and become more comfortable with emotional and physical intimacy.
I work with you so that you are better able to identify and appropriately express a wide range of feelings, including the more challenging feelings of depression, anxiety, anger, grief, fear, and despair.
I received a Doctorate in Transpersonal Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in 1992.
I also have two Masters degrees in Humanistic and Transpersonal psychology.
I have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 1985.
Additionally, I was the staff psychotherapist for the Stanford Research Institute (SRI International) for nine years.
I offered short-term psychotherapy, provided organizational development (including consultation with management, conflict resolution, and team building), and designed and presented training programs for staff on topics such as Leadership, Stress Management, Substance Abuse in the Workplace, Communication and Influence Skills, and Career/Life Planning.
Despite the major advances of the women's and men's movements, gender injustice remains a fundamental challenge worldwide.
The infamous "battle of the sexes" rages on across the globe on myriad levels, ranging from the banal to the catastrophic.
Both women and men are afflicted by gender injustice, and each needs the other for a true and complete healing.
Such unified gender work is almost entirely absent in our society, even in otherwise highly conscious social, political, spiritual, and organizational contexts.
The Lure of the Ring compellingly captures the essence of addiction, the seduction of power, and the nature of embodied spiritual transformation.
I highly recommend this wise and engaging book.
The Lure of the Ring is one of those few books that honors and ignites the power and mystery of the interior life.
It is an inspirational book that demonstrates how personal mythology directs our actions and organizes our experiences.
A 'must read' as it is so relevant for human beings, individually and collectively at this time in history!
