Compellingly rewarding therapy and counseling for Denverites seeking assistance with professional development, LGBTQ identity, & other therapeutic needs. My name is Adam Garcia Walterbach LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker). I am a Denver psychotherapist who specializes in helping LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer) clients and consulting young professionals here in the Denver startup scene and other professional settings.

I conduct both individual therapy and couples counseling sessions for heterosexual and LGBTQ clients. When deciding to seek therapy, you are making the conscious choice to pursue the desired changes in your life to optimize and increase your overall well being. You're investing in a better version of yourself, becoming the hero of your story. Success is your pathway.

It's time to open the doors to your ideal self and reconcile with the doors you have left open from your past. I send an email newsletter on a monthly basis that includes therapy blog updates, videos, and other mental health or Denver related resources that you may find useful in your day to day living.
Services
I began my journey providing psychotherapy in Los Angeles, CA and decided to trade in beaches and the endless Summer for green spaces, mountains, and clearly defined seasons (AKA Denver, CO).
I received my Bachelor's in Science of Social Work at Bowling Green State University and then proceeded to obtain my Master's of Social Work, with a special focus on mental health, at the University of Southern California.
While working for an agency in Los Angeles I successfully educated my colleagues on LGBTQIA+ related issues, through the creation of multiple intensive trainings, which resulted in the agency gaining accreditation from the Human Rights Campaign's (HRC) All Children, All Families initiative.
My office building is located directly across the street from the Macy's at the Cherry Creek Mall. 2 Hour guest parking is available in the South lot on a first come first serve basis.
The South lot is located behind the building (photo above is of the back of the building), you will need to travel down an alleyway accessible from either of the side streets, E Ellsworth or E Bayaud Ave.
If full, free street parking can be found nearby.
Please note that if you park at the Cherry Creek Mall you will likely have to pay a parking fee.
Again, this depends entirely on your therapeutic goals.
With that said I recommend coming to session on a weekly basis for your first month.
Your frequency in attendance is always negotiable and I want to respect your pace as well as your availability.
I offer free 30 minute consultation calls.
Please go to the contact page for information about how to reach out to me.
We will schedule a phone call and I will inquire about the reasons for seeking services.
Should we decide to work together I will provide you with all relevant information about what to expect from your first scheduled appointment.
There are many facets and complexities when it comes to LGBTQ identity.
While having studied LGBTQ culture, psychology, and history extensively, I also understand the intricacies of sexual identity through my identification along the spectrum.
While the fight for equality continues, problems facing the community continue to rage onward at institutional, societal, familial, and individual levels.
I take into account my client's spectrum identity, and I also look beyond to discover what makes them truly unique.
The Denver startup scene can be a challenging landscape to navigate.
Because you are working in a startup, you are more likely to encounter an increased workload, longer hours, frequent changes, and a focus on constant growth.
All of this can be draining.
Perhaps you are the CEO of your company, an entrepreneur looking to start a new venture, or someone working in either an up and coming company or a more stable environment.
It is crucial for you to recognize that the work that you do is essential, and I want to help you have skin in the game without having to sell your soul or burnout.
