This practice managed by a doctoral-level psychologist is dedicated to providing therapy and evaluation services with the same high level of quality of care that one would expect from any other healthcare specialty area. We only provide assessment and treatment services that are grounded in research and established standards of best practices. This helps achieve the most accurate and effective results possible.

This practice provides empirically-supported individual treatment for children, adolescents, and adults as well as couples therapy. Every treatment begins with a diagnostic evaluation or couples interview followed by a discussion of the best treatment approach according to research to achieve the best outcome in the least amount of time. Consequently, most therapy services can be expected to be Behavioral or Cognitive-Behavioral in nature for most situstions.

Treatment can generally be expected to last between 12 and 16 for many conditions, although some follow-up sessions can help reduce relapse, and ongoing stressors, chronic disorders, and complex situations could add to treatment length.
Services
Children are often faced with many family, school, and peer issues.
Most children are referred for treatment due to behavioral issues.
We use specific implementations of behavioral management and parent training to make parenting less stressful and quickly reduce problematic behaviors while developing individual skills within the child.
Other issues, such as anxiety or depression, are generally treated the Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
Adolescents are often referred for a variety of emotional and behavioral issues.
While most mental health disorders are likely diagnosed merely with a brief clinical interview, more comprehensive diagnostic evaluations that include one or more objective psychological tests are generally the best means of more accurate assessment.
Most evaluations are completed in one session, with a feedback session within two weeks to review the results and specific recommendations regarding the best treatment approaches.
When concerns arise regarding parenting issues and child safety, rely upon objective evidence rather than instincts and personal opinions.
Clinicians are generally available 7 days per week.
However, no walk-in services are provided, only scheduled therapy patients and assessment clients.
Most appointment times are limited to evenings and weekends, which generally best accommodate individual's work and school schedules better than traditional business hours.
Psychologists at KCPC generally spend the daytime working at inpatient facilities, testifying in court, or supervising trainees.
Anyone can call the office number or submit a written request to find out more information about the details of services provided in order to see if KCPC will meet their needs.
Please reach us at smcdaniel@kcpsychology.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Unlike most mental health practices, KCPC only provides treatment approaches that have demonstrated the highest level of support.
This means that our therapy services have demonstrated the ability to be the premier treatment for a condition that not only effectively treats the issues but generally does so in a much shorter time than many other less-supported treatment approaches that are often selected based upon therapist personal preference rather than scientific evidence.
