I am Dr. Sharon Theroux and my husband is Dr. Christopher Fichera. We are Florida licensed psychologists and co-founders of South Florida Psychology, the South Florida Center for Mindfulness, and International Seminars Group. We opened South Florida Psychology in 1987, providing individual and group psychotherapy, clinical and forensic psychological/neuropsychological evaluations, and infertility evaluations for our South Florida community.
In 2012, we opened the South Florida Center for Mindfulness, providing mindfulness-based practices such as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC), and Eat for Life. We strongly felt the need to offer these mindfulness-based, evidence-based programs, not only for our clients to complement their individual/family/couples treatment regimen, but for healthcare providers suffering from burnout, and for healthy individuals to improve their quality of life.
In 2013, we opened International Seminars Group to provide healthcare providers the opportunity to attain continuing education (CE) credits for these mindfulness-based practices.
