Dr. Rebecca Elman is a Florida Licensed Psychologist serving primarily Palm Beach and Broward Counties. She specializes in conducting psychoeducational evaluations to identify intellectual giftedness, as well as reasons why a child may be encountering difficulties in school. These assessments include gifted testing and neurospychological evaluations to diagnose learning disabilities, such as dyslexia and attention deficit (ADHD).

Dr. Elman also evaluates students to determine whether they qualify for testing accommodations on college and graduate exams, such as the ACT, SAT, MCAT, GRE, and LSAT. Please call Dr. Elman to schedule your child's evaluation and to find out more information about the process. Parents are encouraged to schedule evaluations in the morning, when kids are usually at their sharpest and are most attentive.

The evaluations are filled with activities that most children enjoy. Dr. Elman loves to hear from parents that their kids want to come back and do it again, just for fun.
Services
Dr. Elman specializes in the assessment of children in the areas of intellectual ability (IQ), academic achievement, social/emotional adjustment, and various cognitive processes, including executive functioning, memory, attention, auditory processing, and phonological awareness.
Rebecca uses the most up to date assessment measures, and she prides herself on having a number of different tests at her disposal.
Each evaluation is tailored to the individual needs of the examinee.
Rebecca takes the time to learn about each child and selects the testing measure that she feels is best suited to that child's abilities.
Gifted testing is usually completed in one session.
Dr. Elman will call you the same day after she has had the opportunity to score and review the results.
Additionally, if given permission, she will contact your child's current teacher after she has completed the evaluation to discuss his or her academic and behavioral performance in class.
Additional factors, such as motivation, attention, and level of comfort contribute to a child's performance on an assessment.
As such, a child can have an "off day, " in which he or she does not demonstrate his or her full potential.
