I am Dr. Beverly Davis and I want to share with you a little about my approach to psychotherapy. Also, on these few pages you can read about my specialties, office practices, and other information you may need to know to choose a therapist. If you have more questions please feel free to call me and we can talk about your needs. When you first come to therapy you may worry that I will feel bored or burdened if you express the pain and suffering you feel.

My work has never felt that way to me. I am honored when a client shares his or her most personal and private experiences. Sometimes tears are shed in my office, but there is also much laughter. You may find the work of therapy to be intriguing as you watch issues unfold and deeper layers of yourself are revealed. I know I am continually challenged in this process, asking myself how to best support your exploration.

Over the years, I have acquired many tools to help people get as close to the truth of the situation as possible, because the truth is where you find your happiness.
Services
About Myself: I have been a licensed psychologist practicing in San Antonio since 1988.
I earned a Bachelor's in Business Administration from Texas Tech University and worked for eight years as a merchant for Foley's Department Store in Houston.
I then moved to Austin and received a Master's Degree and doctorate at the University of Texas at Austin.
I have maintained a full-time private practice since that time.
I am also trained as a somatic trauma therapist and I also practice a kind of energy work called Jin Shin Jyutsu, that can support and enhance the work done in psychotherapy.
You may want to express and explore thoughts or feelings that are shameful to you, or share a reaction to something I said.
You don't have to listen to how my day is going or worry if you have hurt my feelings.
I know what you are thinking, "She just doesn't know my family or she wouldn't be so hopeful."
Well, maybe there is no hope.
Times of transition are rough because in them parts of our identity are challenged and we lose a sense of certainty about who we are.
This is a good thing in the long run because who we are is much greater than who we see ourselves to be.
Craniosacral therapy is a kind of energy work that has been around for over 100 years.
The work is subtle and so are the effects.
It can help calm the nervous system, release held energies from traumatic experiences, and speed the healing of injuries and surgeries.
Everybody is built around a blueprint, the perfect form of you.
Cranial work can remind your body of its perfection and help it move toward health.
