Dr. Joshua Essery is a licensed psychologist with board certification in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He earned his Master's and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College Graduate School in Illinois. Dr. Essery completed his pre-doctoral internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in the Department of Psychiatry.
He received advanced training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychological testing, and family therapy with children and adolescents at Clarity Child Guidance Center during his post-doctoral year of supervision. Dr. Essery presently provides psychodynamically informed psychotherapy and psychological assessment services to individuals, families, couples and groups.
In addition to his clinical roles, Dr. Essery regularly offers educational presentations, conducts seminars and provides clinical supervision as Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Psychiatry Department at UT Health San Antonio. His emerging professional interests include organizational consulting, program development, the impact of technology on psychology and providing mental health services to families of those with chronic medical illnesses.
