We will work with you to develop new ways to manage strong emotions, develop life coping skills, and improve family relationships. There are excellent resources available to help parents manage difficult behavior by their children at home and school. Aurora Psychological Services recognizes the important roles that our relationships, experiences, and belief systems play in our every day lives.

Our family and childhood greatly influence our personal development; however, they are not the only determinants of who we have become. We are not static beings. Due to our lives being in a state of constant flux, we continue to grow, learn, and have the capacity to choose change each day. Sometimes, these changes may feel unwanted, scary or overwhelming.

We may struggle in adjusting to them, accepting them, or we may feel stuck in old patterns of responding that no longer work for us.
