Dr. Ivonne Ocasio is a Bilingual Psychologist offering counseling services for depression, anxiety, anger, and grief among other mental health issues, in Austin Texas. Sometimes life presents us with challenges that are difficult to overcome. You might feel overwhelmed and alone. Friends and family can offer their support and encouragement, but even with their best intentions, their help might not be enough.

In such moments of distress, a trained mental health specialist can provide a secure environment where you can express your feelings, and explore alternatives for your life's challenges. I am a doctor in clinical psychology licensed by the state of Texas. I usually work with people who are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, sad, depressed or experiencing difficulties in their lives and they might not know what to do to get better.

In the therapy or counseling process, they can talk freely about their concerns, in a secure and confidential environment, and look for alternatives to their troubles.
Services
I believe that therapy is a shared space in which both parties, client and therapist, learn, grow and transform their lives.
I provide services in English and Spanish, to adults and couples.
I particularly enjoy working with Hispanic women and I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to be part of their transformation and personal growth journeys.
I am a Licensed Psychologist with a Ph.
D. in Clinical Psychology and a Master's degree in Community - Social Psychology, both from the University of Puerto Rico.
Through the therapeutic process I emphasize in the discussion and understanding of the circumstances that are causing distress or discomfort.
I would also guide my clients in the process of identifying the emotions and behavioral patterns associated with those situations and to develop alternative routes for dealing with their problems and achieving their therapeutic goals.
Psychotherapy may be a part of a broader path to personal growth.
My clients are actively involved in all stages of therapy.
You can benefit from therapy if you are feeling overwhelmed and do not know what to do about it.
For example: you might be feeling a loss of control over a situation and this is causing a great deal of distress; or you might be experiencing intense feelings of sadness or anxiety and having difficulty coping with those feelings; or you might find yourself trying to make significant changes in your life and need some support or guidance.
What can I expect from therapy?
Therapy can be part of recuperation and/or personal growth process that will be different for each person.
