Services
Reaching out to a therapist can be intimidating.
The best way to determine if a therapist is right for you is to come in for an initial appointment.
There is no commitment required beyond that first hour.
We approach every person respectfully, with an open attitude toward collaborating on all aspects of the therapy process.
We view both therapist and client as equal.
Working together, we set the pace and tone of each session so that you are comfortable with the direction of treatment.
Our role as therapists is to listen, to understand, and to offer perspectives you may not have considered.

It is my priority that you feel understood.
Long standing, sustainable change occurs when we delicately balance comfort with newness.
For this reason, it is important that I balance curiosity and questions with support and understanding.
If we set the stage together with that in mind, we will make a lot of progress.
My approach is dynamic and relatable.
Asking questions, being curious, experimenting with new things, celebrating successes, understanding motivations, and expressing emotions are all part of what we will do together.

In building a collaborative therapeutic relationship, my approach is based on respect and compassion.
I strive to honor each person's unique life experience by tailoring my clinical approach to best meet their individual needs and/or goals for therapy.
Therapeutic goals can include focusing on a specific situation and the accompanying depressive or anxiety symptoms.
Some individuals may need support in working through a traumatic event.
For others, a goal could be recognizing some lifestyle patterns, sometimes existing since childhood, that no longer coincide with one's values and goals for the future.

I believe each of us strives to create our story in which we are validated, empowered, and at peace.
As stories often go, we can get lost in the weeds of negativity, coming from the world around us - or even ourselves.
Other times we can struggle to understand the text, images, and events right in front of us.
As a therapist, I will work with you to help you create the best chapters of your life, writing a narrative that you can rely on for years to come.
My approach is motivated by the last 20 years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families, as an educator and then psychotherapist.
