Congratulations on taking your first step towards finding greater satisfaction in your relationships and more fulfillment with life! Most people come to therapy struggling with an important part of life such as an intimate relationship or a relationship with a child, parent, sibling, employee or supervisor. Others grapple with career decisions or productivity.
Therapy can help you unlock your own creative solutions to your unique situation. My approach to therapy is to provide an environment where people feel safe to talk about all aspects of their lives. When we put words to all of our thoughts, feelings and desires we remove our internal barriers to getting what we truly want. Once we are free from these bonds we can live fuller, more satisfying lives.

Services
I have been providing counseling for the Austin community for the past 20 years.
My initial training and education focused on marriage and family, working with couples, children and adolescents.
I have since honed my skills working with adults of all ages.
I believe there is no better training than to pursue my own therapy, which I have done continuously over the past 15 years.
I work primarily from a modern psychoanalytic perspective while borrowing from my earlier training in solution-focused techniques such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Systems-Centered Therapy.

Frequently our close relationships begin with a lot of passion, communication and intimacy.
Over time, however, some couples find themselves drifting apart.
Sometimes this takes place with a lot of turbulence and other times like the change of tides - seemingly imperceptible shifts that eventually leave a large gulf between the two.
My clients often report experiencing a reversal of tides.
They learn to stay close, passionate and loving towards one another.
Couples call me with various concerns like infidelity, communication difficulties and intimacy.

Human beings have united in groups for safety, support and play since the beginning of our existence.
Modern psychotherapists use this age-old wisdom to help people effect change in their lives in the context of a group, where change is most likely beneficial.
Group therapy is experiential in a way that differs from individual or couples therapy.
It is an excellent adjunct to individual work.
In the context of a group, people relate to others as they do outside of group.
These interpersonal dynamics can be explored in an emotionally safe environment, giving the individual the mental space to change aspects about themselves they would like to change and strengthen those areas which serve them well.
