Seeking out therapy is both a brave and exciting process. What can I expect from therapy? How do I know what kind of therapist is right for me? Some of you may have been on the healing journey for quite some time, finding yourself in a place where you are starting a new chapter of exploration. No matter what point in our processes we are, together we all tend to find ourselves, and our bodies, on the path towards health or transformation after overwhelming experiences (emotional and/or physical), trauma, or loss.
These experiences can leave us feeling fragmented, fearful, or that our inner-fire has dimmed. You may be left with feelings of depression, anxiety, grief, or simply a deep knowing that getting some support may benefit you right now. To take a leap into this healing journey is a delicate process, one that is fierce and courageous by nature, yet can evoke a variety of emotions throughout the process.
That being said, I take my role as a therapist, one who supports the client in their fierce bravery, as a facilitator of a sacred collaboration.

Together will explore both the past and present and get to know your story and your body's unique language & responses.
I feel strongly that once one has the opportunity to deepen their own awareness of their being (body-mind-spirit), a sense of freedom can be experienced, as well as agency to feel, release and let go of all you may be holding or that which is holding you back.
I deeply value creativity, curiosity and approach therapy from a somatic, intuitive, empathic and deeply relational place.

Although talk therapy is very helpful in thinking about and analyzing our thoughts and emotions, sometimes it can keep us from getting to know our full experience.
Staying within the mind, and never exploring our whole being can often perpetuate a state of disconnect which would prevent us from having the opportunity to obtain deeper self-awareness that is held within our total physical, emotional and psychological being.
That deeper self awareness includes your body's own unique language, memory and story.

As you might suspect, Virtual Therapy, (otherwise known as telemedicine, teletherapy, or video therapy), is an offering where you meet with me for a session remotely via video.
Sessions look almost the same as they would in-person, except we are convening online instead.
This option works amazing for some and isn't the most ideal for others (see below).
Virtual Therapy is being offered to all clients, new & current, at this time!
With current shelter-in-place orders, in person sessions are not possible, but I am so grateful to have the accessibility to working remotely!

Working with and providing therapy for children, teenagers and Transition Age Youth (TAY) is a specialty of mine for several reasons.
The first being entirely personal.
As a teenager myself, if it wasn't for the support of a therapist, I am unsure what path I would have taken.
Because I had the outlet of a therapeutic relationship which embodied guidance and compassion, I was able to endure and move through a lot of overwhelming situations.
Some of these included a challenging home life, stressful school environment, sexual assault, and all of the somatic and emotional responses I developed as a result to such traumas.
