Services
DLA is composed of a talented team of Chicago psychologists and social workers who specialize in grief, loss, illness, and all of the complexities that come with these life changes.
We approach therapy without prescribed agendas, because we know your journey is unique to you.
Our job is simply to walk alongside you to support you in moving toward your goals - whatever they may be - and help you step into a new phase of life with hope, confidence, and peace of mind.
We are committed to your healing and well-being.
I am dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families who are experiencing distress related to chronic, acute, and terminal medical diagnoses, caregiving, end-of-life and hospice, and grief & loss.
These highly sensitive topics are some of the most challenging experiences we encounter in life, and I believe you deserve a combination of both expertise and empathy to process them and find hope in your next season of life.
These life changes affect every area of your health and wellness, and I am committed to supporting you in each one of them.
Grief comes in many forms - from the loss of a loved one to divorce and other life transitions - but it is almost always all-consuming.
When you are in the throes of loss, it can feel impossible to imagine how to get through the next few hours or days, let alone the months and years ahead.
It leaves you feeling directionless, anxious, and hopeless.
This is only made worse as your support system changes around you.
It may feel like your friends or family are sick of hearing you talk about your grief, or feel like people are on eggshells around you. when all you need is someone who is willing to sit in this space with you while you process this loss.
We also serve as an out-of-network provider for clients who have insurance with other companies.
This means we provide the necessary forms for you to file for reimbursement with your insurance carrier.
We encourage you to contact your insurance provider to discuss your options for outpatient therapy under your behavioral health benefits.
Do you cover CPT code 90837 for outpatient psychotherapy sessions without requiring a prior authorization?
If so, what is the reimbursement rate?
If you do not cover CPT code 90837 without a prior authorization, do you cover CPT code 90834 (which is a 45 minute session) without a prior authorization?
If you are living with a chronic medical illness, such as advanced heart failure or solid organ transplantation, or experiencing grief or loss, you are often forced to look at life in new ways.
You might feel anxious, depressed, or isolated as life changes around you.
I specialize in working with adults and adolescents who are experiencing distress and want support from someone who won't shy away from the hard conversations and difficult moments that come as a result.
I work with you to better understand and process your thoughts and feelings, examine how your past experiences are influencing how you feel today, and develop the coping skills to handle what lies ahead.
