If you are unhappy in your relationships, suffering from depression or anxiety, going though a crisis, or wanting to make changes in your life, psychotherapy can help. Facing one's issues and fears is an undertaking that creates much anxiety. For this reason, the relationship between the client and the therapist is paramount. I endeavor to gain the trust and confidence of my clients by creating a safe haven in which they can begin the process of healing and self discovery.

Depression is the most common psychological disorder in our culture.
34 million American adults suffer from depression every year.
It can be triggered by external events (loss of a loved one, loss of a job or career, financial setback, etc.) or internal events (i.e.
Clinical depression is more than a sad mood.
It is the result of an imbalance in brain chemistry and manifests itself in both psychological and physiological symptoms.
Common symptoms include sad mood, decreased energy and motivation, feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, suicidal ideation, changes in libido, sleep and appetite and loss of ability to experience pleasure.
Anxiety Disorders cover a broad range of clinical symptoms.
Mild manifestations include vague feelings of uneasiness, while, at the other end of the continuim exist paralyzing feelings of terror.
Some anxiety is a normal part of daily life and is appropriate and even useful in some situations.
It can heighten awareness and mobilize internal resources to manage the challenge at hand.
However, in excess, it can impair functioning.
Common symptons include chronic, exaggerated worry, tension and irritability.
In a family with two parents, the most important relationship is the one between them - the executive relationship.
The parent(s) model for their children how people treat one another, show care and respect for one another, how to nurture and foster growth and development, and how to negotiate conflicts.
