ForPsych is a forensic psychology practice composed of experienced, highly trained psychologists engaged in practice, consultation, training and research in psychological issues related to law and society throughout Ohio and Indiana. With more than fifty years combined experience in administrative, civil, and criminal settings, ForPsych offers services on a variety of forensic topics.

We have particular expertise in the areas of Workers' Compensation, personal injury, competency-related issues, criminal responsibility, and disability evaluations. Our diverse and experienced staff allows us to focus on issues critical to your practice. By remaining current with research relevant both to legal standards and psychological issues, we provide services in a knowledgeable, timely and efficient manner and in a safe and empathic environment.

As ForPsych evolved from a small outpatient mental health treatment center to the area's once largest private provider of outpatient psychotherapy, we recognized that as our clients grew more diverse, our staff must as well.
Services
Work related injuries may result in emotional difficulty, particularly if the physical effects of that injury are pervasive and debilitating.
At ForPsych, we have evaluated workers on behalf of both the worker and the employer and are also members of Ohio's Disability Examination Panel.
In addition to these evaluations, our sibling practice, Tabono Center for Wellbeing, provides individual counseling with the goal of returning the Injured Worker to the workforce.
As most of us know, employment allows for more than just a paycheck.
Psychological factors may contribute to or interfere with an individual's ability to safely and competently complete work-related tasks.
Some may believe that his/her emotional difficulty is too overwhelming to maintain employment.
Others may be entering the workforce and are unsure as to whether their disabilities may affect their future training or employment.
And still, there are times when employers raise concerns about an employee's ability to maintain a safe working environment.
ForPsych has worked with private organizations, municipalities, and even the federal government providing assessments across the employment continuum from pre-employment evaluations to retirement.
Concerns regarding mental health issues can arise during any facet of the proceedings, from initial arrest to sentencing.
ForPsych has years of experience working with private attorneys, public defenders, and prosecutors throughout Ohio.
Additionally, we are aware that while some legal standards and issues in the juvenile court system parallel those in the adult system, developmental issues distinguish these two systems.
Understanding the specific legal statute is one key to providing an accurate and helpful assessment.
Psychological pain and suffering can result from the negligent actions of an individual or organization.
ForPsych has worked collaboratively with attorneys in determining whether a specific event/accident has resulted in significant emotional disturbance.
Integrating our training and years of experience with current research, ForPsych can assist in determining whether the preponderance of evidence supports substantial emotional distress, and if so, is that distress the product of negligent actions or some other stressor.
ForPsych is one of the largest providers of consultative examinations in the state of Ohio.
We routinely assess an individual's emotional, behavioral, interpersonal, intellectual, and academic functioning, as they relate to one's ability to complete work-related tasks.
We also provide evaluations for private insurance carriers, including short-term and long-term disability.
At ForPsych, we recognize that diagnosis alone is not sufficient to establish impairments or need for work restrictions.
Rather, diagnosis is simply the first step.
