Family Support Ctr-San Diego
Therapy is not about becoming a new person, but becoming the person you already are, but are afraid to be. I offer psychotherapy in San Diego for adults, couples, families, and teens dealing with relationship difficulties, depression and anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality issues, schizophrenia, and other mental health problems. I also help family members understand their loved one's difficulties and help couples and families communicate more effectively.

I use well-researched treatment methods (such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Family Focused Therapy) in an ethical and compassionate framework. I believe that change occurs within the context of a positive therapeutic alliance and my focus is on helping individuals, couples, and families make significant change in their lives.

Getting appropriate mental health help in the teenage years can help prevent or minimize the worsening of symptoms down the road in life. Negative thought patterns and dysfunctional behaviors make people vulnerable to painful and difficult moods.
Services
Establishing a positive therapeutic relationship is a vital first step in helping individuals, couples, and families.
Individuals in therapy often share intimate thoughts, beliefs, and emotions.
As such, it is critically important that Dr. Rosenfarb provides a safe, open, and non-judgmental atmosphere where people can feel at ease.
Trust and respect are essential components of a good therapeutic bond.
Dr. Rosenfarb offers individual, couple, and family sessions.
My fee is $175 per 45-minute session.
When I was anxious and depressed, my whole world narrowed down.
It was as if I was wearing blinders and I could see only the negative in life.
I could sit on the couch and notice that the house needed cleaning but I couldn't find the strength or will to get up and do it.
I was also worrying constantly and feeling restless and tense.
Needless to say, my anxiety and depression had a powerful impact on my relationship and my family.
While I was reluctant to do so, getting into therapy was the right decision.
Teenagers often come to therapy for many of the same reasons adults do: Processing grief and loss, relationship and family conflict, self-esteem, coping with anxiety and depression, and dealing with issues of identity.
Counseling adolescents and teenagers is a challenge I enjoy.
At times, I see teens when they have been diagnosed with mental illnesses such as psychosis, mood disorders, anxiety and depression, and borderline personality disorder.
Sometimes they are referred to me following psychiatric hospitalization.
Or you may be wondering for the first time if you yourself or someone you know is dealing with symptoms of Bipolar Disorder.
Bipolar Disorder can have a major negative effect on an individual's daily functioning and general well-being.
Jobs and social relationships may be disrupted.
Failure to seek out appropriate treatment and can cause people with Bipolar Disorder to self-medicate with substances that may provide relief in the short run but which may then foster yet another realm of difficulties.
While many people with psychosis or schizophrenia can live meaningful lives in the community, others may be are dependent on help to manage and structure their lives and meet basic needs.
Difficulties in holding a job and self-care may, at times, be common.
As with other mental illnesses, no one is to blame for an individual having this disorder.
We are not certain exactly what causes this illness but it appears that it is biological in origin and that symptoms worsen under stress.
If you or a family member is dealing with problems related to psychosis or schizophrenia, I would like to help.
