In a world that is sometime complicated and difficult, at times one may need help in coping with life's challenges. Life is a constant stream of transition and change, and so exploring feelings around life events helps us move from one phase to the next. Most Individuals and couples seek counseling and psychotherapy to reduce emotional pain and to search for purpose/meaning in their lives and relationships.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Imago Relationship Therapist in Los Angeles, my goal is to assist individuals and couples to discover and integrate solutions during these challenging times. By exploring the underlying feelings that keep us feeling stuck in relationships and life events, lost or unknown parts of the self can be realized and embodied.

I also help individuals gain insight and understanding as well. Since we are all different with how we process information, feeling understood is the first step in healing. Psychotherapy can assist in discovering new ways of self understanding, and can provide opportunities to live a more meaningful life.

Often, people don't know how to go about finding a therapist, let alone find one that will meet their needs.
So, I thought it might be helpful to talk about the initial process and how to approach a potential therapist.
In addition to the process, I will briefly address how psychotherapy works and what to look for when you make contact for the first time by phone or in person.
Hopefully, this will help with your important decision.
I will also address common issues and how I work with each one.

Most of us have or will experience some level of depression at some point in our lives.
Even though it is common to hear someone say, "I'm so depressed, " this is not to be taken lightly.
Depression can be unbearable and sometimes chronic.
It may seem that there is no way to get relief.
In my practice, I have worked with many clients who deal with depression or feelings of hopelessness.
I work with each to see what is causing the depression.
Then, we work together to determine ways to move forward and feel better.
Over the years, I have worked with many individuals and couples who struggle with sexual and sexuality issues.
Often, there are underlying issues attached to desire, sex, attraction, and sexuality that one does not completely understand.
For many, early sexual experiences began privately as a teenager.
One's increasing desires were soothed with masturbation with the attendant belief that there was something shameful about it.
Secrets were fearfully hid, with no one to talk to about sex.
As adults, sexual freedom was limited in relationships.
