I have been a psychotherapist for just over thirty years. My long time passion for the work comes of engaging with people as they grow to a comfortable place within themselves and in relationship with others. After all of these years, witnessing that more powerful sense of self still feels magical to me. I believe in the inherent goodness of people, and enjoy helping them to find healthier ways of being in the world, and to create happier lives.

My therapeutic style is pro-active and straightforward, with an ease in relating to people through experience, compassion and humor. My psychotherapeutic approaches address the mind/body connection, as research shows that how we perceive and process events in our lives can influence us both mentally and physically. With extensive experience in the fields of trauma, energy psychology and addiction treatment, I enjoy helping individuals, couples and families, including blended families.

I particularly enjoy working with adolescents to help them find the voice of their own individuality.

This approach addresses the theory that past experiences with early childhood caregivers create a template for future relationships and our comfort level with getting close to others.
Also known as insight-oriented psychotherapy, this approach often works in conjunction with Attachment Theory to help individuals unravel, experience and understand their true, deep-rooted feelings in order to resolve them.
It takes the view that our unconscious holds onto painful feelings and memories, which are too difficult for the conscious mind to process.
The focus of PSYCH-K (psych-k.com) is directed at changing beliefs held in the subconscious mind that limit the expression of one's full potential.
Our subconscious beliefs are the predecessors of all behaviors, feelings, and interpretations we experience in our life.
Our beliefs control our lives.
Self-limiting beliefs create self-sabotaging behaviors and affect all aspects of your life including: your relationships, self-esteem, financial prosperity, career choices, even your health and fitness.
If your child aces the eye chart at the pediatrician's office, you might assume her vision is just fine.
But some common vision disorders can't be detected by a standard eye exam - and could be holding your child back in school.
When Jennifer Stone Hopp's son Ethan was in first grade, his teacher told her that he had "all the tools to read, " but he "just wasn't pulling it together."
When Hopp and her husband tried to work with him on reading at home, he'd refuse.
He skipped words everywhere.
He couldn't focus.
